If you have been wanting to up your child’s veggie and fruit intake, smoothies are the way to go!
How I got started with this. . .
My oldest son, Nate, was a pretty picky eater as a little dude so I had to get creative on how I could increase his veggies and fruits!
I loved smoothies growing up, but I just always thought that the ones you would get from a juice shop were full of sugar and not full of whole fruits and vegetables.
So I thought… “Why not make my own amazing smoothie that is made of whole fruits and vegetables that the whole family will enjoy?”
Once I had Nathan’s stamp of approval, smoothies became a BIG part of our family’s diet!
Both my boys let me get as creative as I want with them and we always name them fun names! I’m tellin’ ya, if you want your kids to enjoy some of that amazing goodness – get a good blender, some fresh produce, and a creative name tank because they will be a hit!
1.5 cups 9.5pH Water
4 Medjool Dates
1 cup Purple Kale
1.5 cups Frozen Mango cubes
1 packet frozen Dragonfruit (I found these at Target)
2 scoops Plant-based Vanilla Protein Powder (I use Orgain for this)
I typically blend my water and kale first until the kale is pretty smooth. . .
Once the kale is blended up, I add the rest of the ingredients to the blender and keep blending until thick and smooth!
TIP: You can make it more or less thick by how much frozen fruit you add (more thick=more frozen fruit/less water OR less thick= less frozen fruit/more water)
